Victorian Pastor Paul Furlong fined after defying Stage 4 lockdown and holding service in Narre Warren

A pastor in Melbourne’s southeast has been fined after holding a church service in defiance of the Stage 4 COVID lockdown guidelines.

Pastor Paul Furlong from the Christian Revival Church held the service in Narre Warren on Sunday with the attendees allegedly unmasked and not social distancing.

There have been about 50 individuals on the service and a number of had been seated at an adjoining cafe related with the spiritual group.

Police stated individuals dispersed with out incident when officers arrived.

“The place is the pandemic? It’s not about COVID. It’s about authorities management and eradicating our freedoms” Pastor Paul instructed 7NEWS on Sunday.

“Are we going to obey God? Or are we going to obey man?”

On Monday, he was issued a superb for breaching the instructions of the Chief Well being Officer.
