Robert Downey Jr. gave an emotional tribute Thursday to his longtime private assistant Jimmy Rich, who died in a automobile accident a day earlier.
Rich joined Downey on “The Singing Detective” in 2003 and can be his behind-the-scenes “proper hand man” in practically two-dozen films, Variety reported.
Citing the “horrible and stunning tragedy,” Downey wrote on Instagram: “He was a brother, my proper hand man, an uncle to our children and beloved by all who skilled his singular character and wit. Our ideas go to his relations, mates, co-workers, and all of the followers who knew him as the person who supported each step of my restoration, life and profession.
“Once more, my condolences to his lovely household, and the legacy of hope and redemption his life will proceed to signify.”
Marvel additionally mourned Rich’s passing on Twitter.
