A person renting a room from a Maine couple allegedly killed them in an unprovoked assault early Friday morning, in keeping with a report.
Patrick Maher, 24, was charged with killing Troy Varney, 52, and his 48-year-old spouse Dulsie Varney at their Turner residence, the Sun Journal reported, citing police.
Sources instructed the newspaper it seems Maher fatally stabbed the couple in an ambush assault.
One of many couple’s two daughters found her dad and mom inside the house and known as police.
Within the days main as much as the bloodshed, Dulsie began to worry Maher, a relative instructed the Journal. It was unclear why.
A relative of Maher’s instructed the newspaper that he was depressed amid the pandemic and was exhibiting unusual conduct in current weeks.
The Varney’s have been well-known in their neighborhood. Troy ran the household farm and his spouse was a trainer.
“These are the sort of those who give of themselves, getting concerned locally with occasions and fundraisers,” neighbor Rob Hutter instructed the newspaper.
“We, as a city, couldn’t ask for higher neighbors.”
