Liszt by Candlelight showcases WAAPA pianists at Government House Ballroom

5 of Perth’s budding piano stars convey the life and works of Hungarian Romantic composer Franz Liszt to the classical atmosphere of Government House Ballroom this month.

Their live performance, one of many final beneath the Restart the Arts with Government House initiative earlier than the Ballroom undergoes roof renovation, is on Saturday, February 27, at 7pm.

Organiser Hannah Th’ng stated the heat of the music and candlelight within the Ballroom would enchantment to all tastes, from the curious to the connoisseur, and particularly to romantic {couples} heading out in town.

WA Academy of Performing Arts graduates Tommy Seah, Nicholas Williams, Jordan Proctor, Izaac Masters, and Th’ng will play a program of Liszt favourites with highlights such because the Consolations and Liebesträume (Desires of Love), a variety from Hungarian Rhapsodies, highlights from the 12 months of Pilgrimage, and extra.
