Jennifer Board killed in Townsville motorbike crash targeted by fundraising scam

The grieving household of a younger motorcyclist who was killed in a horror crash in Townsville have been targeted by scammers.

Jennifer Board, 22, had simply completed a gaggle journey when she collided with a Holden Statesman sedan that was allegedly chasing a stolen automotive on Ross River Highway, Thuringowa Central on Friday evening.

Her household have been compelled to situation a warning after scammers created a pretend fundraiser, posing as her father Graham, asking for $50,000 in donations for a “funeral fund”.

“I can’t imagine I even have to put in writing this, however final evening a pretend (fundraiser) was set as much as elevate funds for Jennifer’s funeral bills,” John Board wrote on Fb.

“Our household has not, and won’t, be organising any such sort of fundraiser so please don’t donate to them.”
