Ipswich Town: Football fans use flares to start training ground fire | UK News

Police are investigating after a bunch of Ipswich City fans threw flares into the membership’s training ground, inflicting a small fire that led to the crew’s training session being quickly stopped.

There have been 12 flares thrown over a fence because the gamers ready for Tuesday’s Sky Wager League One match towards Northampton at Portman Street.

Signage on the fence caught fire and training was suspended whereas a member of the teaching crew stamped the flames out, Sky Sports activities stated.

Nobody was harm within the incident, and training resumed round 10 minutes later.

Ipswich, who’re twelfth in League One following Tuesday’s defeat to Peterborough, had been relegated from the Championship in 2019.

The incident has been reported to the police and an investigation has been launched.

A membership spokesperson stated: “There was an incident on the training ground this morning the place flares had been thrown over a fringe fence adjoining to the gamers.

The flares brought on signage on the fence to catch alight and in doing so put our employees in danger. The police had been known as and are investigating the matter. The supporters’ group involved have apologised for his or her actions.”
