Former US president Barack Obama and his family are mourning the loss of their dog Bo, who died after a battle with most cancers.
Mr Obama, who served two phrases as US president till 2016, posted the brand new on social media accompanied by images of the dog.
The Portuguese water dog was a reward to the family from the late senator Edward M Kennedy, who was a key supporter of Mr Obama’s 2008 presidential marketing campaign.
The president had promised his daughters Malia and Sasha that they may get a dog after the election.
A second dog, Sunny, joined the family in 2013.
Each have been in style with guests to the White Home they usually usually attended public occasions, such because the annual Easter Egg Roll.
In addition they met wounded navy personnel and kids in hospital.
Mr Obama’s spouse Michelle posted about Bo’s loss of life on Instagram, saying: “He was there when Barack and I wanted a break, sauntering into one of our workplaces like he owned the place, a ball clamped firmly in his tooth.
“He was there once we flew on Air Power One, when tens of hundreds flocked to the South Garden for the Easter Egg Roll, and when the Pope came visiting.”
Mrs Obama mentioned she was grateful for the time the family spent with Bo because of the pandemic, and mentioned that “no-one was happier than Bo” throughout that point.
