Cairns hiker plunges to death from Windin Falls in Tablelands

A Cairns lady has died after plunging greater than 50m to her death from the highest of a preferred waterfall in Queensland’s far north.

The 58-year-old had hiked 90 minutes to a pure infinity pool on the high of Windin Falls in the Wooroonooran Nationwide Park on the Atherton Tablelands when she fell simply earlier than 1pm on Sunday.

After a 3 hour seek for her physique, the lady was positioned by the Rescue 510 helicopter about 4pm.

The waterfall has a pure infinity pool on the high of it, and it’s unclear if the lady was swimming in the pool or posing for pictures earlier than she fell to her death.

A report can be ready for the coroner.
