Big White Mountain Ski Resort COVID cases could be linked to Australia Day gatherings

The operator of a Canadian ski resort says unsanctioned Australia Day celebrations could be accountable for a latest improve in COVID-19 cases.

5 additional infections have been linked to a group cluster at Big White Mountain Ski Resort on Tuesday, which now numbers 231.

Sixteen cases are lively and in isolation on or off the mountain close to Kelowna, British Columbia.

Senior Vice President Michael J. Ballingall stated the brand new cases could be linked to a rise in testing following “unsanctioned Australia Day gatherings” that had been noticed on social media.

“Optimistic cases proceed to stem from privately managed group housing,” he stated in an announcement.
