It’s footy, however not as we all know it.
Naturaliste Charters crew and passengers had been handled to a rare spectacle at the Bremer Canyon on January 21, when orcas began launching fish out of the water, presumably to make them simpler to eat.
Onboard marine biologist Pia Markovic described it as a sport of “fish footy”, with juvenile sunfish getting used because the ball.

“With a sunfish flicked out of the water, then body-slammed seconds later, it was little question consumed by the hungry orcas,” she mentioned.
“Small oil slicks had been showing left and proper as extra orca scored.
“They had been tail-slapping the floor to doubtlessly stun prey — or out of the water the fish got here, with an orca following immediately behind.
“The fish weren’t protected in or out of the water.
“It was a fully epic present and one that won’t be forgotten by the crew or passengers any time quickly.”
